Between the years 1920 and 1930, our grandfather, Pedro Núñez de la Cuesta planted vines in the estate called Valdecuriel. Some of which, nowadays are still producing grapes. It has always been a family tradition to elaborate wine in private wine presses, which still exist, as does our family cellar dug out by hand wiht pickaxe and shovel around 1780.
In the eighties and the nineties, encougared by the enthusiasm of our father, Gervasio Granado, who was well known in the village of Curiel de Duero for the quality of this wine, we started planting more wines using moderm techniques of “espaliers”.
This is how a new winery was born in a modern building on the estate known as “Valdecuriel” and “Las Pinzas” and we started producing red wine in the denomination of the RIBERA DE DUERO area.
It is our priority to produce an estate wine exclusively from our own estate grown grape, usin modern techniques without forgetting the advice and methods that have made this wine very special for many years.
